This home is build by 2 ship-carpenters how where building this home in order of a director from shell. They have asked us to make the cabin as off-grid as possible, and we have taken this very seriously. After the calculation we have placed 4x 400Wp solar panels on the roof and a 1000W windmill on the back of the home together whit a 7,5kWh gel battery bank together with water a filtering system on board its able to be completely off-grid.
We have mounted a flat roof system of the brand FlatFix on a flat roof of a garden shed. This system has the advantage that it is very light in weight (requires little ballast) in comparison with other flat roof systems, this is because the entire system is "aerodynamically" tight. In addition, it can be mounted directly on any flat roof without having to be attached to the roof itself.
We have installed 165 panels of 275 Wp per panel at an organic laying hen company in Heidenskip. This is good for a total yield of 38,568 kWh per year.
